Blog Assignment #9

Well I have to say that I am almost sad that this semester has come to an end. I can't believe that this is the last week of classes. I have enjoyed this Eng 101 class very much though. I was excited that all of our essays were about paranormal topics. That definitely made writing the essays more interesting and more enjoyable for me at least. Some things that I have learned from this class is that persuasive writing wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, I also learned how to do a works cited page, and I now know how to write in MLA Format. The thing I struggled with the most was just finding the time to do the homework. Being married and taking care of 6 kids made that difficult at times. I had a lot of fun writing the ghost story for the a la carte project. Actually I had fun writing all of the essays because I got to choose topics that interested me. My first essay was about Extra-Sensory Perception, and I learned alot about this subject while researching for the essay. My second essay was The UFO Controversy, and this one had to be my favorite one to write because I 've always believed that the government has been concealing the truth about UFO's from us and I hadn't realized that there has been so many eye witnesses, sightings, and evidence. My third essay was about the movie The Sixth Sense, and for me this was the hardest to write and I'm not sure why. I have always loved the movie and when I chose to write about it I thought it would come easily to me but it didn't. I must have had writers block or something. Hrmm I dunno. Well thats enough rambling from me. I just want to say Thank You to Professor Stacy for making this class fun and creative. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did.

Blog Assignment #8

Well after reading peer responses to my essay, I realize that one of my paragraphs is too long and I'm going to try and shorten it. I'm also going to double check everything and make sure it's perfect before I turn in my final draft. I want to thank everyone who read and replied to it. I'm very happy that you enjoyed reading it. Thank you and good luck to everyone.

Blog Assignment #7

Well I have been doing some research for my next essay. My topic is the Government Cover-up about the existence of UFO/Extra-terrestrials. I recorded a Television show the other night called Conspiracy? which is about what happened in 1965 in Kecksburg, Pennsylvania. It's really interesting because it has witnesses concerning the event and how the military handled the situation. I also was able to find some books at the library about UFO's. The first one is called Official Guide to UFO Sightings and it is a book about state by state encounters. Another book is called UFO Phenomena and the Behavioral Scientist which is about the eyewitnesses of UFO phenomena and many of the complex sociocultural factors that surround them. Another book is called The UFO Enigma and this book cover many topics and places concerning UFO's. The last book I found is called The UFO Controversy in America and, like the others, discusses issues concerning UFO's. I'm looking forward to writing this essay. If I had to choose just 3 to use for my essay it will be The television show Conspiracy?, The UFO Controversy in America, and The Official Guide to UFO Sightings.

Blog Assignment #6

I chose to write about the government covering up UFO/Extra-Terrestrials for my essay. Some sources I am planning to use are books, articles, film documentaries(I have watched some before on Discovery and History channels), and maybe even some newspapers if I can find any. I'm going to search for books at the library and I'll definitely have to ask the librarian for help considering I do not know my way around a library.LoL. I am really looking forward to researching for this essay and I know there is a lot of information out there on the topic. I just have to find it.

Blog Assignment #5

Well after reading all the material about persuasive writing that was assigned, I know that persuasive writing analyzes all the sides of an issue while arguing a viewpoint. It may serve to
clarify your own beliefs as you persuade others to accept a particular perspective. Persuasive writing addresses topics that are controversial. I do believe that, for me at least, persuasive writing is going to be hard.

Blog Assignment #4

Well after receiving suggestions on how to fix my essay I have revised it. I didn't change any of the wording because I felt that it didn't need anything added or removed from it. I did change the font size that had changed toward the end and I also worked on correcting my works cited page. For my works cited page I read all available material on the topic and hopefully I have gotten it right this time around. I have to admit that the hardest part about this essay for me has been the works cited page and having to do the MLA format. I'm going to study more about the proper techniques for these because I want to be sure that I'm doing it correctly. Again, thanks to everyone for the suggestions on improving my essay. Good luck to everyone on your revisions :)

Blog Assignment #3

First of all I want to thank everyone that read my essay and responded to it. I was really happy that you enjoyed it and that I kept it interesting. I always try to do the best I can no matter what I'm doing and I worked really hard on the essay. It's nice to know that it was appreciated. I also want to thank you for the suggestions on improving the essay. I'm definitely taking all suggestions and using them to fix my essay. I hadn't even noticed that the font size had changed toward the end, so thanks for pointing that out. I knew all along that my works cited page needed improvement because I didn't fully understand the proper way to do it. I'm definitely going to read more about that and fix it the best I can. Good luck to everyone on the revisions on their essays and wish me luck on mine. :)
